Attend one of our general body meetings! We meet every Tuesday at 7pm in Van Munching Hall… We’d love to get to know you and help you develop your professionalism through marketing.


Fill out the application for UMD AMA Chapter membership. Soon after, an executive board member will reach out to you to set up a meeting time. This is NOT an interview. AMA is about making connections with other students who might share the same passions and interests. We simply want to get to know you and welcome you to AMA.

  • National Dues are $50 (pay online when registering)

  • No professional chapter dues are needed

UMD AMA uses a point system to track attendance and reward members. We use a system split into three tiers:

Gold (15+), Silver (10+), and Bronze (5+). The more points you accumulate throughout the semester, the more rewards you qualify for. 


You can earn between 1-3 points by attending:

- General Body Meeting
- Social Event
- Site Visit
- Fundraiser
- Undergraduate Marketing

Additional points can be gained by: Tabling (1 Point), Joining the TerpThon team (1 Point), Joining a mentorship "pod" program (1 Point), or following all our social media accounts (1 Point). To check your current tier status, click here.

AMA provides events throughout the year that look to be engaging, interactive, and marketing focused. Our events range from speakers to site visits. The UMD American Marketing Association (AMA) is reviving their annual Undergraduate Marketing Conference on Friday, November 8 in Van Munching Hall from 10am-3:30pm. This event is open to any undergraduate student in the DC, Maryland, or Virginia area interested in marketing, branding, or a related field. Make sure to fill out the interest form in order to be notified when official registration is released.

AMA is always looking for ways to improve our content and leave members with the best experience possible. Providing community service opportunities to our members allows for mutually beneficial relationships between AMA and organizations with a social impact focus. While actively strengthening the local community as an undergraduate student, members develop an affinity to “doing good” that they will carry into their professional career.

In a unique effort to help people advance their careers, AMA is partnering with A Wider Circle to hold a professional apparel clothing drive during our Marketing Week, September 30th - October 4th.  We will be collecting any gently used dresses, blouses, sweaters, accessories, suits, blazers and dress pants. Terp Thon Interest Information Session - Tuesday, November 5th, 6:30pm VMH tbdThe director of our ambassador program will be discussing what Terp Thon is, her experiences with Terp Thon, and how you can get more involved.


This year we’re going to implement a new mentorship initiative with team pods! A pod is just a smaller group of AMA members who share similar interests and personalities. We will be using the pods to encourage members to meet up outside of weekly AMA meetings. Click here to learn more.
